Lab 3:Intro to Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR), Satellite Sensors and Digital Image Processing.

This week in lab we explored a new software called ERDAS. We really focused on the basics of how to import files and how to navigate the software. We  even learned how to export from ERDAS and import to ArcGIS Pro to create a map. Finally, we learned a lot about different frequency and wavelengths. we even learned how we can use pixel and file size to gather information about wavelength and frequencies.

This map was created in the first part of lab. We were given an image from UWF,  took a sample out of it, edited the attribute table to add area, and exported it to ArcGIS. One thing that was really cool about the imagine is that it was multilayer. This was really useful when it was imported to ArcGIS Pro it was already symbolized and had relative color.  The only thing I had to add was the amount of hectares to each category. While creating my map, I used a black background because I felt like it helped elevate the colors more. when I tried a white background, it looked very washed out. I used a light grey for my legend background because the white symbol for cloud couldn't be seen on a white background and the black black symbol for unclassified wouldn't have been seen on a black background. I add the rest of the essential map elements. For data source I know the image came from UWF, but I am not sure where they got the image from and I included ESRI because I used one of their base maps.
