For Scenario 2, I ran a weighted overlay twice. once with equal weights and once with the alternative weighting scheme provided. Both runs used the same reclassified layers for land cover, soils, slope, distance to streams, and distance to roads, but the second run gave more weight to slope and less to distance-based factors.
After creating both suitability rasters, I summarized the results by class and compared the two maps side-by-side. The changes in weights made certain areas more or less suitable, which was most noticeable in places where slope values were high. Adjusting the weights shifted some high-suitability zones and showed how weighting decisions can directly influence site selection outcomes. This comparison reinforced how important it is to set weights that match the priorities of the project.
